As part of the "Ihlara Life Trip" held on May 11, 2025, an educational event focused on cultural heritage and plant diversity was organized for students of Merkez Middle School under the coordination of Emine Özgül, a teacher at Aksaray Science and Art Center.
During the event, Professor Dr. Mehtap Tekşen participated as the instructor, providing students with field-based training on the major plant families and introducing them to the rich vegetation of the Ihlara Valley.
An educational game designed to help students identify the plant cover of the valley was also conducted, enriching their knowledge and enhancing their awareness of local biodiversity.
This activity offered students the opportunity to observe biological diversity firsthand while promoting scientific learning and cultural appreciation. The program aimed to foster environmental awareness among young individuals and encourage the protection of natural heritage.
